Independent Workplace Investigations and HR Case Support
Fiona Francombe provides independent workplace investigation and grievance case support for organisations handling sensitive or complex people matters. Working with boards, senior leaders and HR teams, she offers calm, impartial and evidence-led support when internal processes require independence, clarity and procedural integrity.
What I do:
I support boards, leaders and organisations when complex people matters require independent judgement, careful process and decisions that are both fair to individuals and defensible for the organisation.
Grievance, Disciplinary & Appeal Support
I’ve spent over 20 years in senior leadership roles where people decisions were rarely abstract and often deeply personal. I understand how grievance, disciplinary and appeal processes affect not just organisations, but the individuals involved and those responsible for reaching a decision.

How I work:
Each piece of work begins with clear scope and governance lines. I review evidence methodically, structure hearings with calm authority, and ensure all parties understand the process.
My conclusions are evidence-based, balanced and clearly explained — delivering outcomes that are fair, proportionate and defensible.
I hold two priorities in equal measure: organisational integrity and individual dignity.
Why independence matters:
Independence helps build trust in the process for everyone involved.
When investigations are led by someone outside the organisation, individuals are more able to speak openly and decisions are more clearly seen to be fair.
It also protects staff time and reduces organisational risk by ensuring the process is handled carefully and properly from the outset.
Most importantly, independence helps ensure that every voice can be heard and that decisions are reached fairly, respectfully and without pre-judgement.
